The Imperial Government have decided to co-operate with the Government of Canada in fortifying the important harbour of Equimault, in the North Pacific. The Daily Chronicle reports that Count Kulnoky. an Austrian statesman, is discussing with representatives of the Papaoy and of the Italian Government, the question of ceding territory to the Pope. A considerable sum remains unexpended of the large amount cf money subscribed for Women's Jubilee Offering to the Queen, a fact which has clicked some comment. The women of Govan, in honour of the Jubilee, endowed and furnished a hospital, and invited her Majesty's permission to call it by the title of Victoria Hospital. The Queen is said to have refused the request, and it is alleged that Her Majesty is displeased that tho money was not subscribed to the Imperial Institute, instead of being devoted to tho purposes of a hospital.
