OHINEMURI. (FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.)
Paeroa, Friday. The long looked for sitting of the Native Land's Court will commence here on Wednesday next. There are about 60 cases to bo dealt with, and it ia to be hoped that the title to several large blocks of land in this immediate neighbourhood will be individualised so that those who have liens, upon them may be enabled to complete /heir titles, and then the work of clearing and cultivation will follow in dm course. | A meeting of those desirous of forming ! a Band of Hope in this district was held in the Public Hall here last Monday evening. The proceedings were conducted hy the Rev, Mr liuwry, who delivered a powerful address in support of the object in view, pointing out the benefits which would accrue to all who would conform to the principles of the society. This was followed up by recitations from Mrs Thorp, and Miss and Master Juekaon, after which several musical selections were rendered very effectively. About 40 young parsons signified their willingness to lend a helping hand towards carrying out the good work, and it is proposed to hold meetings about once a month.
