Woodstock,— The whole of the arrangements in connection with this company's furnace plant are now in complete working order, and smelting operations will be started immediately unless instructions to the contrary are received from the directors in the meantime. In the building the columns for the cam shaft have been reared, and the stamper boxes are now being Gxed in place. The grinding pans are in position, and the work of gearing same is being gone on. with. I have it on pretty good authority that the Woodstock furnace will not start for another week, This is owing to the fact that there is not sufficient high class ore on hand to keep the smelter going for any length of time.
