The dopseness of atmqsphere an 1 heavy gloom in the Rotorua direction are quite appareni from here. A party who has just come in from beyond Waiorangomai states that he heard rumbling like distant thunder in that direction so late as ten a.m. At Matamata, disturbances similar te an earthquake were distinctly felt to-day.
