The Papakura annual race meeting took place on Saturday last, and a more unsuitable day could not have been selected. Heavy rain fell at intervals, and together with a cold wind and sloppy course, it made things very unpleasant. About 500 spectators were present, the great majority of whom came from Auckland by Bpecial train. Mr E. Mitchelson, M H.R., officiated as judge, Mr Jt O. Evett as handicapper, Mr W. J." Marks as clerk of the scales, and Mr J. Chadwick as clerk of the course. Results are appended : — Hurdle Race of 50sovs. Two miles.
