TUI CREEK.

The exact weight of the parcel of quartz taken from No. 1 Champion Lode to the Thames furnace by Mr 0. A. Comes last week, was 1 ton 16 cwt 3 lbs, and yielded at the rate of 2 OZ9 12 dwts 11 grs gold and 67 ozs 12 dwts 9 grs silver per ton ; total, 69 oz 14 dwts 20 grs per ton value for £21 lOs. A sample of stone (about 30lba) from No. 2 Champion Lode assayed at the rate of 1 oz 6 dwts 3 grs gold anrt 85 ozs 1 dwt 22 grs silver per ton ; total, 86 ozs 8 dwts 1 grs bullion per ton, valued at £22 17s. The result must be eminently satisfactory to shareholdeas, and i» proof pDsitire of the rich class of stone obtainable in tins locality. We may state that Mi Conies purposes forwarding a further parcel of 5 tons to 10 tons in the course of N a few days to the Thames furnace. Five men are engaged in the cli'ns, and sinking a winze on the reef is in progress on the ridge between Nos. 1 and 2 Champion Lode claims, and is now down some 20ft, the reef here being about Bft in thickness. It was from this portion of the ground that the dirt, which has just given such a splendid yield at Thames, was taken. A start to break out a parcel from where No. 2 parcel sent to the Thames was obtained is also about to be made. The prospects of this district are very encouraging, but until further branch tracks are made it will be impossible to bring down a' laige supply of dirt, and it is 'to be hop<id these tracks will be made, forthwith.
