TE AROHA.
The present rainfall has provided an abundance of water for the battery which it was expected would resnme operations last night on the return of the manager from Thames. There is nothing of importance to report from any of the mines this week. The men temporarily discharged from the New Find, owing to the enforced cessation of bat.cry operations, will now be able to resume work.
M.4.V Queen. — Since work was resumed in this claim some three weeks ago, driving has been pushed forward in the low level, and to get under the winze where the best gold has been hitherto obtained, will necessitate further driving to the extent of some 50ft. We are glad to know that at the present point the reef (which is about four feet wide) is looking really well, and small .prospects of gold can be obtained by pounding the stone.
