He was, however, started. Tiger Tim was left at the post. Captain Webster got away firet, and led past the stand a length ahead of Kelson. Passing Cutta'B, Captain Webster still held His own, Leon next, Alpine Rose close up, Administrator and Fusilade handy. Running along the back stretch Leon went to the front, and Captain Webster to the inside. At Ford's the order was— Minerva, Captain Webster, Nelson, Admintrator, and Wapiti well in front in the order named. At the six furlong post, Captain Webster led again. Nelson handy. Going in the straight there was a set-to between Nelson and Administrator, who drew away, Nelson collapsing. Fusilade and Hermitage were then close up, Lochiel coming fast on the outside At the distance the whips wove at work on them all, and Fusilade, getting his head in front, won a good race by a length from Administrator, Lochiel third ; Hermitage, Nelson, and Captain Webster in the order named. Sou'-weater and Lady Emma were last nearly all the way. Time, 3min. 37£ sec. Totalisator dividend, £2 shares £38 6s, outside, £9 2s, £1 shares.
