MINING NEWS.

Battery.— Much less than the usual quantity of quartz was treated at the battery during the past week. The return from the Premier for over 40 trucks was 18obs sdwts. Another small lot of about 6 trucks of dirt from this mine, finished this week, has not yet been retorted. New Find : No retorting for tiiis mine has taken place this week, owing to the small quantity of dirt put through ; and no retort will now be ma<le until next week, when the usual inoruh.? clean up will a.c place.
