TE AROHA SCHOOL COMMITTED.

The monthly meeting of the above Scnool Committee was held ia the school house on Monday evening last at 7.30. Present — Messrs Gibbon? (chairman), Smy the (s^c), G. Application from Mr J. H. Upton received soliciting Committee's support re forthcoming election of members to Board ot Education. Matter deferred, as other applications may yet be received. A letter was received from the master (Mr Marsdon) re certain repaiis needed to school house, etc. Mr Wilson and the Chairman were nuthorispd to inquire into the matter, and'hn\e such repairs as they considered absolutely necessary performed. The question of irregular attendance of some of the scholars was Mscussed at some length ; the unanimous opinion being that it was high time some action was taken by tho committee in the matter ; and Mr Mackie gave notice Hiat at the noxt meeting of the committee he would move a resolution to the effect, that compulMjuy attendance be enforced in this district. Mr Marsdon in tho meantime has been requested to prepare a list of the most rreguiar attendants for the use of the committee. A special meeting of the Committee was arranged for Monday evening next fit 7.30, to consider certain matters in connection with the school.
