PIAKO COUNTY COUNCIL.
The usual monthly meeting of the Piako County Council was held at Cambridge, on Wednesday. Present : Crs. Chepmell (in the chair), Gould, Maclean, Smith and- Murphy. The Lower Track and Mr Ferguson. t-Aii application from Mr Ferguson for money promised towards the cost of widening the ' track evoked 'some discussion. , Or Chepmell said' he did not appro\p of the manner in which the above track had been widened. Earth had been removed where, it snould not have been touched, and without any possible advantage, to trrtfFc. Had he known this was going to be done, he would not Jiavo consented to it at all. Even with the improvements that had beeneffectei, he doubted very mucii whether the machinery For the new battery could be brought up' the track. The following collectors were appointed : — Mr Brennner, Waitoa ; Mr Piiscoe, Patetere ; Mr Waltham, Toatoroa ; Mr Psivitt, i-Te ArojSa ; Mr Hopkins, Mn-taihata. i The remuneration was fixed at Is, per ,crillnr. *' ! The Council then went into Committee to consider the matter of finance.
