Sydney, November 14. Mr Stuart, Premier, has so much improved that he has been removed to the neighbourhood of Paramatta, and will leave for New Zealand in about a fortnight. Parliament meets on Wednesday for a financial session only. The City Council has decided to expend £15,000 on the purchase ot an organ for the new Town Hall, now building. Bishop Barry, in opening the Mission Hall at Wooloomooloo last night, spoke favourably of the work being done by the Salvation Army. In connection with the death of a woman named Bell, at the Glebe, from improper practices, her husband, who is a Secularist, and an avowed advocate of the Malthusian doctrine, is in custody with a man named Sheridan, for causing the woman's death The weather has been very oppressive, with but very little rain. Forty boxes of dynamite, each containing tifty pounds, stored at Spectacle Island, have been ordered to be destroyed, owing to its becoming dangerous by deterioration.
Brisbane, November 14. The Members' Expenses Bill was carried by ? 9 to S. Under it, town as well as country members will receive two guineas a day for each day of attendance. Mr Mcllwraith, from his experience gained in Australia and other parts of the world, opposed the bill.
Melbourne, November 14. The Colonial Secretary of Fiji exprosses his belief that any further pressure to secure the annexation of the islands of the Western Pacific would be inconsistent with his position. The Exhibition trusteos intend to construct an aquarium and winter garden.
