TOWN' HALL. MAN AND BEAST. A thrilling story of the African wilds, featuring Kingsley Benedict and Eileen Sedgwick will be shown to-night only. In the midst of a feud between t\vo Transvaal families, there .sprang up love • betwen the daughter of one and the son of the othotr. The forbidden courtship is pierced with many strange happenings. Amidst the roaring of the Lion and the super-human strength displayed by the Elephant, there runs the delightful love stoiry of the girl and boy, leading up to a tremendous when 'the( ( elephant saves the life of a child in arms, and brings about the reconciliation between the two families. Laid in romantic Africa, the scorets of this little known land are flashed on the screen with the vivid reality of real life. The cast includes an Elephant, Orangoutang/ Lion and Leopard, which furnish thrills seldom seen even on the screen. THE KING’S, THE SHADOW OF LIGHTNING RIDGE. In '"The Shadow of Lightning Ridge’ ’ the latest E. J, Carroll. Australian super-feature which Is to bo screened at The Kings Thursday and Friday, commencing with Matinee at 2 oj’clock Thursday “Snowy” Baker is given opportunities for the display of daring horsemanship and bar raising stunts. ‘There is nothing now under the sun’ and this applies to motion pictures partcularly s but Snowy performs feats as "The Shadow” that have never been seen in any photoplay before. An incident that will live' long in the memory is his jump on horseback from a cliff sheer through the roof of a hut forty feet below. The sensationalism of the jump is enhanced by the very dramatic reasons for the Shadow taking the plunge. There are otherthrillers of equal calibre throughout this fast moving story of a good man’s fall from g~ace and his ultimate regeneration. "Tin Shadow of Lightning Ridge” is rich in romance and native humour, and, above all, the story grips with its own strength. It is something more than a vehicle for tjie great Snowy Baker prowess.
