LAND FOE -SOLDIERS. • LOCAL BLOCK FOR APPLI. CATION. The Secretary of the Taihape ami District Returned (Soldiers' Associa. tion has been instructed to receive applications from discharged soldiers desirous of acquiring a section in the block of land at present occupied by Messrs McLennan Bros, at Raukuru, near Taihape. The area of the block is roughly 800 acres, and will be di. vided into five sections. The land is suitable for dairying, and the free, hold price will be in the vicinity of £25 per acre, average over all. The proposal is to settle five men on the block under Section 3 of the D.S.S. Act, and in the event of there being more than five applicants for the five sections the remainder will have to be eliminated by ballot. All those who intend to apply must notify the Secretary R.S:A., Taihape, fry letter or in person, not later than 15th* Jan. uary, 1921. No applications will be received from any person who has not made an inspection of the block, and arrangements will be made for all prospective applicants to inspect the land on Sunday, January 16th, before the elimination ballot is held. All that is necessary in the mean, time is for all who are desirous of applying to notify the Secretary of the R.S.A. immediately. Some de_ lay may occur before the land is ready for settlement, as the Land Purchase Board has yet to make ar. rangements regarding the freehold. LAND FOR SETTLEMENT.
