MONDAY NEXT. The Rangiwaea. School Suorts and Picnic will be held in the school grounds on Monday next (Boxing Day), when an exceptionally good programme of events will be got off. The function is very much more am. bitious than any held in past years, and a substantial sum has been al. lotted for prize money, in addition to which the children are being well catered for, the quantity and quality of the toys for the latter being ex. ceptionally . good. The athletic /and axemen's events fdiould attract a large number of competitors, and the programme generally should be a good attraction for the public. Visi. tors from Taihape may rely on spending a most enjoyable day if they, make the trip. The promoters are to be congratulated on their en_ terprise in making up such an elab. orate programme, and it is hoped that such will be rewarded by a good attendance of the public.
