The excavation work in connection 'with the additions to the Taihape Hospital is well in hand. The improvements will comprise additions to the wards ? duty rooms, drying room, ironing room, bedroom, man|s stare and vegetable room, boiler-house, etc., the estimated cost being £3OOO.
At the general meeting of the Young Men’s Social Club held last evening, it was decided to hold a pubic picnic at Ohutu on Boxing Day (next Monday). Endeavours will be made by a committee to convey the people by and anyone owing a car and willing to take anybody down, will be doing the club a favour as well as having an enjoyable outing thdmselvast Everybody is welcome, but should let the secretary (Mr L. C. Parton care Murray’s Shoe Store) know if they intend going. The club will provide refreshments, but will make a small charge to defray expenses.
