It appears that the pair had had domestic differences, and on Saturday night occupied different rooms. Yesterday morning Mrs Harris's 1 father, Mr A. G. Whibley, who is employed as an accountant by one of the firms in the town, took them each a cup of tea,, and then went out to work in the garden. Hearing loud screams of distress, he rushed back into the house and discovered both his daughter and Harris with their throats cut. ' Medical aid was at once sought and the, police were summoned. It was found that Harris had severed his windpipe with a razor, an<j he was fallen in the ambulance to the public 1 O'pitsl. Mrs Harris's, injuries proved to be less severe, as beyond a bad gash in the throat, no vital spot had been touched. She was also suffering from a wound over the eye, which is believed to have been caused by a hammer which was found in the room.
Both are doing as well as can. be expected, and it is "not thought that-in either e.nse there will be fatal results.
