OFFICIAL OPENING. On Wednesday afternoon tlie committee entertained the members and their friends at afternoon tea, the occasion being the opening- of’ the new Chib House. j The gathering was a large and re- [ presentative one from all parts of j the district I '. Owing to illness, Mrs. 1 R. W. Smith, the President was unable to be present. Mrs. Patley, vice-president, after a feeling reference to the absence to the absence of Mrs. Smith, briefly explained the objects of the Club, and amidst acclamation declared 'the new Club open. It is the intention of the Club to have their tea rooms open to the public as from this date. It is felt that this will be a great convenience especially to those in the . habit of visiting the recreation ground.
