BRITISH COAL CRISIS.
SECOND BALLOT PROPOSAL
REJECTED BY MINERS.
LONDON, Sept. 23. The Triple Alliance Conference resumed to-day and adjourned immediately in order to consider the report of the joint deputation to the Premier last night seetionally. It is now announced that the conference of miners' delegates rejected the proposal to take a second ballot on the question of submitting the two-shilling wage claim to arbitration. It is understood that a letter from Mr. Lloyd George to Mi*. Robt. Smillie was read at the delegate conference. POSTPONEMENT OF STRIKE. Received 9 # lo a.m. . . . ; ■ LONDON, Sept. 24. The miners have postponed the strike for a week.

DYNAMITE AT TBAIfW AY STATION
NEW YOBK, Sept .23
A lighted stick of dynamite was found at the Brooklyn tramway station. It is believed to have been set by striking tramway ' workers. The stick did not explode.
