Details available of the capture of Bokhara City by the Bolsheviks show that the Emir of Bokhara had wisely conentrated his troops, whos'ftwTesistance completely surprised the i viks. The bat:le for the city swayed to and fro, both sides losing heavily, ana positions were won and lost again and again. The Red command was compelled to draw on all his reserves before the city was captured, and the Emir* forced to fly to the Alghan frontier with the remnants of his army. After its capture, Bokhara was given over to the troops to loot, the wealth of the Bazaars falling to the Red soldiery. The Bolsheviks are now expected in Southern Persia and Afghanistan.
