The Christchurch Gun Club hold its £l5O Grand National Live Pigeon Handicap yesterday. The match was open to all affiliated Gun Clubs, and there were ninety-three entries. The following shot. 14 birds each, and divided the s+.ake:—-Truscott, Buick, VMc:Lachlan, Fleary and Henzel.
STATE MINES IDLED.

The State mines were idle to-day on account of miners!’ dissatisfa.c:t.ion over the train service. At a stop—Work meeting to-day, the I110I!,.‘{1ff€1" considering Departmental reports, decided unanimously that until better -?.ra.vel~‘ liing facilities are provided they would refuse to continue to work.
