MOUTHWASH AND RABBIT TRAPS
CHRISTCHURCH, July 21
Nine informations alleging breaches of the anti-profiteering section of the Board of Trade Act. 1919, have been laid against two Christ church firms, a Lyttelton firm, and a Christchurch chemist by the secretary'of the local Prices Investigation Tribunal. Six of the nine informations have been laid against a firm of tobacco importers and fancy goods merchants, and all relate to the alleged unreasonably high price charged for a brand 'of cigarettes. A' local chemist is being proceeded against for having, it is alleged, charged an unreasonably high price for a "Winchester'-' (half a gallon) of borol. This is a proprietary line, used as a mouthwash and disinfectant.
A Lyttelton firm is to be called upon to answer a charge of selling rabbit traps a t a price alleged to be unreasonably high.
ADJOURNMENTS PROBABLE
AWAITING PREVIOUS APPEALS. CHRISTCHURCH, July 21. The date of the hearing of the profiteering charges has been fixed tentatively for August 3. It is probable, however, that on that date the cases will be adjourned'until the appeals in the "Big Ben 7 ' alarm clock cases and in the D.I.C. ease have been decided by the Court of Appeal. The exact state of the *aw will be in doubt until then.
