THE ALSAEE COMPANY.
TO-NIGHT.
Commenting on the above company, which is to appear at the Town Hall to-night, a leading daily said:—— “The Word ‘Vaudeville’ was given a totally difieren.t‘lneaning to that generally accepted through the appearance‘ of the Alsace company. Here was no hoteh-potch of song anddance. rednosed comedians splashing gratuitous filth freely around, no over—generous use of double-entendre and ‘slackstick’ foolery in order to raise doubtful laughs, instead local play-goers had placed ‘before them 21 rare treat in the entertainment line. Every item on the generous programme bore the true professional touch, there were no wearisome deylays, no seeking of recalls, nothing that could give effence. There was a real humour without being offensive, bright singing, clever musical offerings, and specialty acts. It was in reality an entertainment of a kind all to rare nowadays.” The box plan for the local season is at Prntt’s. ‘
