SWIMMING NOTES.

‘ The local abaths are more popular this season than ever. and the number of people availing themselves of this favourite pastime is gratifying to the Swimming Club who are sparing no effort to make the baths ta popular resort. Mixed bathing, which ‘is popular in other centres, is becoming more popular in Taihape, and the club hope by paying attention to the conduct of those using the baths to keep them popular throughout the season. The club are promoting a swimming carnival for March 4th, and trophies are urgently needed as the club wish to make the prizes large enough to entice outside clubs competing. There are also events for the school boys. The club would be glad of any donation from those wishing to encourage the art of swimming_ :00. nations may be given in to this oflice, or to Mr Ballantyne, secretary, or any member of the Committee.
