's‘Tlfe annual school picnic of -Ie Utiku School took place on: the re-
creation ground last Friday in gloriously fine weaflxenm programme of ~ ports events kept e children occupfiied the most part of the day, and the
annual prize-giving, "afternoon tea, and lollie scrambles formed pleasant interhidcs. After a bountiful afterndqn _ta,.supplied by Hm ladies. Mr.
D. Jacksonz chairman of the School Committee, presented the Prizes won during the school year, and in doing so referred to the high cost of books and the ditficulty the committee had in procuring books. The following is «the -prize list:—'
