BOWLING NOTES.
On Thursday last some thirty odd. fiayers adorned the green with their presence, including a few visitors. The holders of the Feathers were challenged by Messrs Fookes, How~ ens, Burrell and Currie. It proved a hard game for McKenzie’s- team, and they were behind for the «best part of the game, but on the twentieth head stood two to the good and Won easily on the last head. Fooke’s team put up Sfgood fight. Loader, H'intz, Archer and Kiddell challenged Mortlandfis team for -the Stars, bue were Well beaten, thirteen proving Loader’s unlucky number. ‘ On Thursday next the Barnet Pairs game will be played for trophies donated by Dr Boyd. The game begins at 1 p.m'., and will be played to "ime ~:-ight through. Twenty-four players have entered. Any who find they cannot come must let the secretary know.
Mrs Archer dispensed a welcome and excellent aftei-noon tea, for which she earned the gratitude of everyone
present.
