COMMITTED FOR TRIAL.

_ WELLINGTON, This’ Day. Aubrey Ibell, aged seventeen, has been committed for trial on a charge of attempting to murder Wln. Murphy and “his son John Murphy, at Island Bay, oi». January 22nd.

Two charges thereat were also_pre~ fem-ed against Ibell. Murphy’s evidence showed that he gave Ibell a home while the lattenwas looking for employment. On returning home on January 22 Witness found solfi'e of his belongings in Ibell’s portmanteau. Ibeil admitted stealing these, and was taken to the Police Station. Later, when Murphy and his son went to get tea, they found poison had been put in some meat. This poison had been taken from a box where it was Kept under lock and key. The poison was used -by Murphy senior in the course of his work as a.- ratcatcheii about the city.
