The respect and esteem in which the late Mr Hart was held was evidenced yesterday by the large and representative gather-ing that atztended his funeral, people coming from all parts of the district to pay the Last. tribute of respecrt to a good‘ citizen and faithful friend. The chief mourners were Messrs C. P. and J. Hart, of Hawkes Bay, brothers of thedeceased. and Mr Russell. The ..,Rev. XV. Hocking conducted the service air the gnavesidev .i;l.. an impressive manner. Messrs 1%. Camp-‘ bell, A. L. Hebberd, 7 J. Prime, and VV. Anderson acutedras pall—bearers. Though not present eat the funeral, Mrs Hart ’s sister, Mrs May, of I-lawke’s Bay, journeyed up to be present with her sister in her hour of sorrow.
