SOCIAL AND DANCE AT UTIKU.

(Own Correspondent.) A very successful social and dance was held in the Public Hall, Utiku, last Friday, in aid of the Copper Trail. The floor was in good order, and local dancers, with their Taihape friends,, thoroughly enjoyed themselves. ~A feature of the evening was a “ mysra:ious Supper,” a novelty in this district* The items of refreshment placed on menu cards, wore disguised under humorous names, and much amusement was caused as the participants received the various solids and fluids they had ordered. A bevy of smart waitresses materially assisted in satisfying thonumorous orders for refreshment during the evening. Songs wee contributed by Mr Lewis, “A Binder Courtship”; Mr Jackson, “The Captain’s Ditty”* (encored), and Mrs T. Randolph, who sang “Coming Homo” and as a recall number “Come, Sing to Me.” The organisers desire to thank all who assisted and in particular Mr Jackson, for his dance music, and Mr Christie' for his hard work in making the necessary arrangements for the evening’s enjoyment. Mr G. Hyland made a very efficient M.C. I understand the “Copper Trail” will benefit to the extent of £l4.
