PADDY’S MARKET.
A well attended meeting was held last night in Mr Peyton’s shop to make final arrangements in connection with Paddy’s Market, to help along the Copper Trail. The following members were present: Mr. Peyton (in the chair), Messrs. o’Callaghan, Edlin, Cathlers, 1\ eagle, Murray, Dunbar, Marlow. Evans, Currie, Boyd, Wham, Williams and hon. secretary. Mr. Etevenaux.
Programme committee —Mr Currie reported that this part of the arrangement was well in hand.
Considerable discussion took place on the matter of the wording on the picture tickets, which may cata.se confusion. It was decided to make known as much as possible that admission to Paddv’s Market is free
The committee in charge of the picture tickets stated that they -were selling freely. Mr ISTeagle reported that arrangements were well ahead for the Maori items.
It was decided that four lucky seats bo given at the pictures on Saturday night, Messrs. Boyd, O’Callaghan, Peyton, and Marlow, each donating ss. which was received with thanks. Committees were then formed to take charge of the different side shows, etc., and from the reports given ‘ the public will have plenty to keep them, amused.
It was decided to approach the Huia. Orchestra to contribute several items during the evening. The Market will be opened at 1 p.m. till 6 p.m., close an hour for tea, then from 7 p.m. until midnight.' The meeting then closed with the usual vote of thanks to the chair.
