This statements gives an incorrect impression of heavy British losses. The facts were' that after the stubborn fighting .the enemy losing heavily, an arrangement, not in the nature of an armistice, was made between a German officer and the British Red Cross for the collection of wounded, the. enemy having previously fired on our parties, causing a mutual abandonment of the collection of wounded and dead.
