ON THE SEA.
BRITISH DESTROYER SUNK. FIFTY-FIVE SURVIVORS LONDON, September 23. The Admiralty reports that a German submarine torpedoed and sank a British destroyer in the approaches to the Channel. There are fifty survivors. STORM RELEASES MINES. LONDON, Sept. 24. A storm released hundreds of mines in the North Sea. Many werft washed ashore at Jutland, and some drifted into' harbours among the shipping. SUBMARINE TOLL. Received 11.40. NEW YORK, Sept 24. M. Grasty says the U-boat toll for the week ended September 16 was only 62 ? 000 tons, the lowest since February.
