WAS KORNILOFF A TRAITOR? . INTERESTING REVELATIONS. Received 11.15. PARIS; September 24. The Matin’s PetrogradiCorrespondent says a widespread sensatiom has been caused by the revelations of Savinkoff and Feloninko regarding the origin of the Korniloff plot. Korniloff acted in accordance with plans drawn up in influential circles to save the country from the Extremists. Kornilotf feared the restoration of the monarchy and declared the Romanoffs would have to pass over his body to reach the throne. At the last moment differences of opinion arose between Korniloff and the Government in regard to plans for marching on Petrograd, and the Soviet undertook to organise the defences of the capital. Therefore the military plan to seize the capital were abandoned. The Socialist press is excited over the revelations and it will be very difficult to fix the responsibility. KORNILOFF ABSOLVED. Received 11.15. WASHINGTON, Sept. 24. The Russian Embassy announces that the Government absolves Korniloff from any blame, which was due to a misunderstanding.
CHECKING THE GERMANS. LpNDON, Sept 23. Wireless Russian official; — We pressed back the enemy’s advanced guards in the region of Rudina, in the direction of Riga. PETROGRAD, Sept 24. Kerensky ? who is at Headquarters, instructed Terestchenko to undertake the reconstruction of the Cabinet, which will be completed before the meeting of the democratic conference. WHY ALEXIEFF RESIGNED. KERENSKY ACCUSED OF CONSPIRACY. Received 11.40., LONDON, Sept 24. Mr Harold Williams, writing from say s that Kerensky has decided to remove all officers ,of the headquarters’ staff on the ground that they openly or covertly with Korniloff. General Alexieff protested that many able strategists am tactical experts could not be replaced. Kerensky refused to reconsider his decision and Alexieff resigned. NEW YORK, Sept 24.
