PRESENTATION AT NGAWAKA.

A very pleasing little ceremony took place at the Xgawaki School yesterday afternoon when the scholars assembled at the schoolroom to * bid farewell to Mr. and Mrs. Muirhead on the occasion of their leaving the district. One of the senior scholars, speaking on behalf of the school, made a presentation of a handsome travelling rug to their departing teacher, voicing the appreciation and good feeling felt by the whole school, Mr. Muirhead, in thanking the little donors for their handsome present, said how much he appreciated their gift, and what he valued still more was the kindly feeling and thoughtfulness that prompted it. He addressed a few words of encouragement to his late pupils, and said he would always remember his sojourn amongst the good people of . Xgawaka with pleasure. Mr. Muirhead is leaving Xgawaka, as he lias been called for home service. - ■ ■>
