AMUSEMENTS.

THREE STARS.

The admirers of that great actress, Olga Petrova, will have the opportunity of seeing her to-night in her latest success, “Playing with Fire,” Madame Petrova has been justly acclaimed as the most gifted emotional actress appearing on either the stage on the screen, and the Metro drama in which she appears to-night provides ample opportunity for the display of her wonderful histrionic ability, and it is conceded by those wko have witnessed this picture that she has achieved a real triumph of art. The supporting subjects are the “Gazette,” the fourth series of “Wild Animals in Life,” a Drew comedy and another instalment of the “Black Box.” A French War topical picture will also be shown, which deserves more than passingnotice. It was photographed during the first fortnight in July, when the troops were making their brilliant and successful push towards Bompierrc. This picture gives a very vivid and realistic presentation of war.

EVERYBODYS.

everybody knows of the widely-read novel “ Audrey,•” written by Mrs. Mary Johnston, but to see the screen adaptation of tliis fine romance has so far been the privilege of the very few. Commencing, at Everybodys to-night, the photoplay will run for two nights, during which time it will surely attract a great deal of popular, attention. Presented by Daniel Frohman, in three-heart-stirring acts, the picture was only recently released and may safely be said to be quite new to the Dominion. Pauline Frederick is in the leading role, and no finer criterion for the success of the play could be asked than the marvellous histrionic ability of this artist. Supports include an interesting “ Nature Sru.lv," and a rollicking comedy.
