PAYMENT FOR GOODS PROHIBITED. Received 9.5. TURIN, Jan 23. The Austrian Government has prohibited all payments from Austria for goods supplied from external sources before January 1. The Swiss exporters are the ones chiefly aiTected. The Journal de Geneve says this is Austria’s admission of bankruptcy. The paper attacks Austria for her dishonesty, and declares that Germany appears to -have taken the same course as remittances are long overdue.
