HEARTLESS CRUELTY OF GERMANS.

Received 10.33. BERNE, Jan 23. Humane protests arc being made against the refined cruelty of the German pi’ocedure with Franco-British sick and wounded prisoners selected for internment in Switzerland. When the selected men reach Constance, in sight of the frontier and comparative freedom, they are re-examined and frequently sent back to captivity. Fully three-quarters of the last batch of Frenchmen are suffering this fate. Such heartless cruelty even evoked protests from Princess Max of Baden, and Prince Henry of Saxony.
