EXTENSIONS TO FREEZING WORKS.

EXTRA CAPITAL PROVIDED. WORK TO BE PROCEEDED WITH. At the annual meeting of the shareholders of the Otaihape Farmers Meat and Produce Company, Ltd. held yesterday; the chairman stated that more than ever there was cause for pushing on with the extension in the stor age. Unless they could store away, they could not do the killing; and so outsiders would be able to come in and buy. The Tonigiariro had gone down and the position had become worse. It was estimated that by cutting down proposed extensions to the smallest possible extent they would need £7OOO. This would enable them to double the freezing rooms upstairs, and they would probably increase their tallies from 800 to 1500 daily. They would have to issue 1500 shares, 1205 of which had been taken up. The consulting engineer was present, and if they could gbt the thing going at the meeting, the work would be ready by the end of January. Some more of last year’s stock had been sold, and they could see that the profit would be about £4OOO instead of £2OOO. (Applause.) He would be gilad to hear j if any of those present desired to take up shares. Several; ineihbers signified their willingness to do this, and some 350 shares' were-- taken up im the room.
