HUGE RAILWAY EARNINGS
AN AMERICAN RECORD A STRIKE THREAT JUSTIFIED (Received 9.20) WASHINGTON. Sept. 13. The Inter-state Commerce Commission reports that the total railway earnings i'or the past fiscal year amounted to 1,176,000000; a gain of 26.6 per cent on the previous year. It is the first time earnings have reached a billion Railway men say this justifies the recent threat to strike for higher wages.
