OWING TO ROUGH WEATHER (Received 9.50) Owing to very heavy rain last night and the continued rough weather this morning, the Woodlands Races have been postponed till to-morrow. THREATENED RAILWAY STRIKE. LIKELY TO BE SETTLED (Received 10.45) LONDON, Sept. 13. A railway conference to deal with the men’s demands for 10s. increase assembled to-day and continues tomorrow, The general opinion is that no strike is likely. Possibly the men will be offered and will accept ss. per manent increase. A disturbing South Welsh element demanded 15s. and threatened to strike on Sunday. It has now fallen- Into line with othei railway men.
