PLUNKET SOCIETY.

The usual monthly meeting of the above Society was held in the Nurse's Room, Town Hall, on Friday, Ist September. Present: Mesdames de Lautour (chair,). Jobliu, Timbs, Loughnan, Collinson, Mercer, Somerville, and the secretary.

Nurse Rogers reported that there are at present 114 babies on the books,, 10 of which are new cases. During the month she visited 98 homes, and received 80 visits at the office, and in advising 12 outside cases by letter and telephone. The health of the babies, with one exeption, is good. An urgent letter was received from a mother in Ohakune, asking if Nurse Rogers could visit that town as there are many babies there needing her services. The committee decided to arrange a day for the nurse to pay a visit to Ohakune and meet mothers who wished to consult her. Subscriptions were received from Mesdamed Hair and Plummer, At the request of several mothers in the district Nurse Rogers is giving a demonstration on the making of humanised milk, and will be glad to see anyone who is interested. The demonstration will be held at 2.30 on Wednesday afternoon, in the Plunket rooms, Town Hall.
