Britain several times insisted that it was Germany’s duty to nropuJJy feed prisoners, or release them. On the 23rd Britain requested the release of all civilians at Ruhleben. who would be exchanged for G-crmans interned in Britain. American doctors reported that much bread from auroad was mouldy and hard. The German bread caused indigestion
