A SEPARATE CARNIVAL. i (Own Correspondent). The balance sheet of the "ball for Wounded Soldiers' Fund having been submitted, shows a nett balance of £lO 17/, as follows: Sale of tickets £9 2,', donation from Mr Ford 5/, sale of stock, etc., £3 12/6, less expenses, hire of hall, printing and catering. £2 2/6. At a well-represented meeting on Monday night, it was resolved that Mataroa would carry out a carnival on its own, as the policy of the meetingheld in Taihape was not approved of by 0»e residents of the district.
