FLORENCE YOUNG COMPANY. The Florence Young Company performed before a fairly good audience at the Town Hall last night. Edward Locke's little musical comedy sketch, “The Climax,’’ the piece presented, seems to have been written specially for Miss Florence Young, as her place in it was an almost perfect portrayal of an artist’s part, which only those having musical gifts such as she possesses could successfully attempt. Her performance throughout was one demanding both gifts and skill, and she gave ample evidence that she possessed both, whether in grave or gay, there was no strain upon her auditor’s sense of naturalness. All the perform, ers were good, but Mr Claude Bunlock disclosed that he was a comedian of no mean order. The singing of Mr Reginald Roberts and Mr Edmund Shorras was good, but the one unaccompanied concerted number in which the whole company took part was, next to Miss Young’s numbers, the most interesting itejn on the programme. “The Climax,” a.s a whole,is a musical comedy, that, in the hands of Miss Young’s Company, will be productive of extreme mirth and interest wherever it. is performed.
