THE END OF GERMANY

a corrupt people. 4. —He will have but one arm his numberless armies, taking as their motto, “God with us,’- will appear like legions of the lost. 5. —For a long period he will act by guile and deceit, and hishspios will overrun the earth. He will be. master of the secrets of those in high places.

6. —Ho will have learned men in his pay, who will testify and prove his celestial mission. 7. —A war will be the occasion for lifting the mask. This will i.u. tbe that which he will wage on a French King, but another, which will lie recognised by this characteristic that within a fortnight it will be already universal.

B.—This war will take hold of all Christian nations, all Mussulmans and even of nations more distant, Annies will form in all the quarters of the earth.

9. —But angels will enlighten the mind of man, and in the third week it will be understood that it rs the Antichrist and that all must become slaves unless this conquering one be felled to earth.

10. —Antichrist will be recognised by several traits. He will massacre all priests, monks, children, women, and old people. He will have no mercy. He will pass through, like the barbarians, flaming - torch in his hand, yet calling on the name of Christ.

11. —His lying words will resemble those of the Christians, but his acts will be those of a Nero, .and of the Roman persecutors. He will have an eagle in his coat of arms, and there will be one also in those of his acolyte, the other wicked King. 12. —Yet he is a Christian, and he will perish from the curse of Pope Benedictus, who will be elected at the beginning of the reign of Antichrist.

13. —Priests and monies will no longer confess and absolve combatants, fa-sty because for the first time they will fight alongside other citizens, and secondly because it will be proclaimed that those lighting against Antichrist are in a state of grace, and that if they die they will go direct to Paradise like the martyrs.

.14.—The Bull promulgating those matters will resound throughout the word. It will revive the courage of the faithful, and it will cause the death of the monarch allied to the Antichrist.

15. —To conquer Antichrist it will be necessary that more men than Rome has ever contained should be slain. It will need the efforts of all kingdoms, because the Leopard and the White Eagle will not prevail over the Black Eagle unless the prayers and vows of the whole human race are brought to their aid.

35. Happy those who, escaping the perils of this marvellous epoch, will be able to taste the fruits of it, which will be the reign of the Spirit and the Sanctification of Humanity-—which yel not come into being until the do teat of the Antichrist.
