TE KAPUA NOTES.

Continual hot, dry weather was experienced here until Friday last, when a most welcome downpour ensued, which greatly relieved settlers by freshening burnt pastures. The country was "reddening" in an alarming manner, and water becoming scarce. Kale crops had a faded appearance, and it is noticeable that the Kohl Rabbi species dc not stand continued dry weather, as experts have stated. A good deal cf fat stock is being got away, bu:. (no oM tvcAjble has arisen • the buyers cr.rnot gee trucks or the co>nparties don't, want but a limited numbr; or something; else, This goes to show sheepowners the convincing necessity c? the local freezing works getting to work and beiu«> independent cf them, for Te Kapua is a land of great possibilities. Ploughing operations are ever increasing, and fat stock will play a great part in our near future. It is a certainty that in very short time every saleable sheep will be turned off fat, where they were formerly sold as stores. ' I
