RELIEF DISTRIBUTION

TROTTING MEETING PROCEEDS That suburban local bodies should benefit in some way from the large amount received by the City Council for the relief of unemployment, as the result of a special trotting meeting, was the opinion held at a meeting of the Mount Albert Borough Council last evening. “Residents outside the City have contributed toward the proceeds of the meeting,” said Mr. H. L. Kayes, who held that it was not likely that the City Council would be prepared to make a grant to other bodies, but an arrangement might be made by which unemployed men in suburban areas could be given work as well as those in the City. The engineer was instructed to approach the City Engineer with a view to obtaining such a distribution of work. .
