COLOUR RESTRICTIONS

PETITION LARGELY SIGNED SIGNWRITERS PROTEST Although very little time was given them in which to organise a protest against the sign restrictions proposed by the City Council, Auckland signwriters have made good progress with a petition circulated among the business people of the city. At a meeting of signwriters held on Monday it was decided to lodge a protest against what was termed the “unfair and unnecessary” restrictions proposed by the City Council. A petition was drawn up and circulated in the City. At a further meeting held at noon today, it was reported that numerous signatures had been received from business people, many of whom will be seriously inconvenienced if the by-law is adopted. The petition was lodged with the council this afternoon.
