PASSENGER THRILLED ENJOYED EVERY MOMENT From Our Own Correspondent ROTORUA, Today. The airplane with Captain J. D. Hewett as pilot and a passenger, Mr. Jelal Natali, of Waimiha, King Country, a winner in The Sun popularity campaign, arrived safely. The pilot reports, having left Auckland at 9.15 a.m., and was over Rotorua township at 10.50. He landed at Whaka, at 10.59, Visibility was good, but the clouds were low on the Mamuku Hills. The route followed was, Pokeno Valley, the west side of Hauraki Plains, Waitoa, Waharoa, Matamata, Mamaku, and then over Ngongotaha into Rotorua. The passenger was thrilled with the trip and enjoyed every bit of it. He said that In the glorious spring morning the green Hauraki Plains lay like a map beneath his feet, Mamaku Hill and the hush country proving a great contrast. He was much impressed with the big dairy factories at Waitoa and Waharoa. He is staying at Rotorua for four hours and returns by the airplane. He hopes that Pohutu will play while he is here.
