SUCCESSFUL EVENING

The Ponsonby' Catholic Tennis Club held its annual dance and prize night last evening in the Manchester Unity Hall. Popular dance music way played by Bolton’s Apache Orchestra. During: tho evening the Her. Dr. Liston, patron of the club, presented the trophies won during the season to tho following:

Women’s A grade championship singles, Miss 11. Williams; men’s A grade championship singles, Mr. B. Prendergast; women’s B grade singles, Miss Stitt; men’s B grade singles, Mr. F. Lowry; women’s junior championships, Miss M. Cairns; men’s junior championship, Mr. It. Catterall. Miss Ena Murphy, winner, and Miss Marea Lonergan, runner-up. in the popular girl contest, were presented with gold watches. Among those present were:—Mrs. C. Cairns, who wore beige georgette and lace, with old gold coatee; Mrs. C. Culpan, black satin beaute; Mrs. R. Catterall, blush pink georgette; Mrs. J. Murphy, black satin with insets of cream lace: Miss M. Lonergan, sea foam green frilled georgette; Miss K. Carran, cameo pink georgette: Miss E. Murphy, willow green satin beaute; Miss R. Williams, mist blue tulle and silver lame; Miss W. Viscoe, nile green satin beaute; Mrs. A. Haw cyclamen taffeta; Mrs. Tyson, black satin beaute; Mrs. Vickerstaff, black georgette with floral trimmings. Miss 13. Alison, wearing powder blue georgette and silver lace; Miss Noela Henderson, maize georgette: Miss M. Clayton, sunset satin; Miss M. O’Brien, violet satin; Miss Murphy, sky blue satin with blue coatee; Miss Amy Ryan, frock of primrose taffeta; Miss P>. Williams, duchess blue taffeta; Miss N. Haley, lemon floral * taffeta; M iss It. Somerville, floral satin beaute; Miss R. McGee, apricot shaded lace; Miss A. Clifton, leaf green taffeta; Miss McDermott, flame chenille georgette; Miss E. Creedon, ivory embossed georgette with large blue back bow; Miss V. Ross, flame georgette; Miss M. McDonald, mauve satin beaute.
